In order to comply with Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, all employees whose jobs require that they work with a VDU or PC screen, must be provided with:

• An eye examination carried out by fully qualified optometrists.
• Follow up eye examinations at an interval recommended by the optometrist.
• Basic spectacles, if required solely for VDU use.

We have a wide range of basic spectacles that can be used for this purpose, starting from £69. Employers will often contribute a set amount if you prefer to upgrade the spectacles.

We recommend clear coated lenses which reduce the glare from VDU screens. See our section on Clear Coated Lenses

If a VDU prescription is required but you already wear spectacles, specific lenses can be used to incorporate the VDU element to you normal prescription. See our section on Enhanced Reading Lenses.
