With modern technology we have two ways in making lenses thinner & by combining these technologies we get the ultimate in visual comfort and cosmetic appearance.

The first way is to use plastics that can produce the same prescription but in a thinner form, these are called Hi-Index lenses. These lenses could be 45% thinner than the same prescription in standard plastic. The next way we can reduce the thickness further is to put special curves on the lenses this is called an Aspheric lens. This can be taken a stage further by making a tailor made lens that has these aspheric surfaces on the front and back of the lens.
